My Grandmother taught me to crochet at about 6 years old. I loved it and was always making chains as long as I could. It started out as me just making chains then she slowly over time taught me new stitches. As I got older and had better things to do I moved away from crochet to do other thing's. Once I has my first Daughter I started to crochet once again. As time went on I learned more and more stitches and taught myself how to do more and more things. A few Years later a husband and 3 more babies I found myself a stay at home Mother with quite a bit of time on my hands to crochet! Which brings me to the problem. I was spending tons of money on yarn and supplies and had an over abundance of Blankets, Hats, Scarves, ETC laying around the house. I had to do something! So I decided to open up my own etsy shop and here I am. My daughter love to crochet just as much as I do and they are currently in the "Chaining process" I have 100's of 5 foot long chains all over the house. Honestly when they start to get a little to hyper I tell them to go chain and what do you know they have calmed down. My 1 Year old son loves the chains and runs around the house with them. Even steals our balls of yarn and runs around with those. (sometimes that's not to funny) My 5 Year old son has suggested more then once that he wants to "chain" too so if he keeps suggesting it I might just teach him to. Who knows this could become a full blown family business. Either way I'm just happy to be sharing my love of crochet with my kids!
